Back in the Hospital...Again

Sooo...where do i begin....Wednesday night about 1 am Ethan woke up screaming that that his head was hurting...and then I started to get worried. He was not experiencing any other symptoms..such has vomiting, lack of appetite..nothing. Ethan never wakes up in the middle of the night...he sleeps 11-12 hours a night so I knew something was up. So the next morning I asked him again if anything hurt and he said, "Mama, my head hurts". That's when I started getting on the phone to Dr. D's nurse Sue and she said to take him in to the ER and that she would let them know we were coming. We got a CT scan and a X-ray done of his shunt. The CT scan showed that the ventricles had gotten much bigger and that the valve was not following properly. We got a room and stayed the night and had surgery this morning at 715am and everything went GREAT! Dr. D, Greg and I felt great about this! I always say go with your gut and listen to the little people they are really smart. We should be home tomorrow around lunch time. Ethan won't be going to school till the 31st of the month..so he can rest and get somethings done. Hippo and Swimming have been moved till the beginning of October...he will be ready to get back! This pic is of him after surgery...it makes me sad! He is doing GREAT!

Bless his little heart. It is so crazy how lives can be changed so quickly...one minute our punkins are fine...the next they are not.

Good job, Mommy. You are doing wonderful things with and for your son.
